New Year New Blog!

Okay, so I started this blog to tell you all about my crafting ADD but I decided that I shouldn't have to blog twice or more about the same stuff RIGHT?! SOOOOO, I want to use this blog to share some of my favorite fellow crafters with you. I will feature some ah-mazing stuff on this blog! There are so many artisians out there who don't get enough credit for their abilities. We as a group are often under rated because people in general have become very jaded with the large department store prices and products. Friends, Wal-Mart may have a scarf for $10 but the ones that you find on sites like Etsy that are HANDMADE by PEOPLE not machines are so much better. Yes they may be a little more expensive but if you had to choose between keeping small businesses in business and keeping monopolizing company execs like Walmart's CEO's in business who would you choose? We love what we do and we do it because we love it, it certainly isn't because we are loaded like Donald Trump. Oh if being a crafter could make us that rich! First Up..........

CrochetMyLove Designs

This lovely crafter has some of the most AMAZING designs I have seen! I want to buy pretty much everything in her shop! I have bought several patterns from her and have made a couple finished products that I also sell in my Etsy shop.

The first two photos below are the results from her lovely Lace Pixie Hat. I am in love with this hat. It looked amazing on my baby girl. I used a cotton yarn from Peaches'n'Cream. I get it for just $1.77 at a local store. The shell stitch workup on this pattern is fairly quick and easy. If you have a little one in the family or are expecting one this would be an amazing hat for girls and boys alike. Color choices make all the difference.

These two photos below are MY results of a bearded beanie. I am not a big fan of beanies being worked up in sc or hdc because I am usually on a pretty good time crunch and I like to get them done quickly, plus I have a tendency to crochet a little tight. so i prefer to use a really stretchy stitch. DC is usually my go to for hats. I made the beanie and then added the beard from this pattern.

Now the photo below belongs solely to Crochetmylove and is owned by her, however I felt I should post it so you can see her design. It works up pretty quick but I need a stretchy stitch. I love the way the beard works up and it is absolutely one of my favorite bearded beanies. You can find her pattern HERE. She is great at customer service and I am always looking through her shop hoping that I can manage to find the time to purchase and work up one of her patterns. She is amazing at writing her patterns in an easy to understand way. If you love pattern work or if you are like me and enjoy making amazing stuff that looks fantastic I highly suggest visiting her site. She is also on Facebook and has tons of lovely photos there of her different products! So go check her out!

Thanks for visiting and I hope you will check out the next post!
