Wedding Cake Toppers

As a tribute to the upcoming fall wedding season I decided to do my search on Etsy today with the keywords: Wedding Cake Toppers.

Below are some of the amazing works i have found along my search!

Absolutely LOVE this cake topper, as it is a little more truthful than the typical topper and if you can't have a sense of humor at the wedding, then you won't have one after either! There are tons more amazing cake toppers in sports teams etc in her shop here are a few more below
Here's a gender reversal for ya lol

NEXT:

This last one is definately my favorite as I can imagine that would be the setting of my wedding. I have always loved the more comical toppers to the traditional

Now here are a couple from random shops that I thought were absolutely adorable!

Very untraditional but way too cute not to love!

being that my dogs are like my children this is right up my alley!
Well you all know how much of a bird lover I am by now, I couldn't resist this gorgeous topper!
Gorgeous and simplistic, beautiful same sex topper

Okay, this is absolutely my favorite one and would probably end up being on my cake above all the rest, I absolutely LOVE it!

Okay folks, that is it for today's post, please don't forget to support small business. It is an important part of the economy, and though what you get may not cost $1 it is handmade, and made with love. So don't forget Etsy and many of the other sites when you are looking for that perfect gift or cake topper, or decorations.

Creative Minds think alike!

So this post is all about some super amazing people who have tought thousands how to crochet! I learned from a couple of them myself and still continue to learn new projects and stitches.

First up, Teresa Richardson! The owner and operator of Crochet Geek she has TONS of videos on how to's. You can find her youtube channel HERE. I am going to post a couple of my favorite project videos below:

This video shows how to do the Broomstick lace stitch, it is a gorgeous and challenging stitch but Teresa does share her secrets on how she does this stitch with a bit more ease!

This gorgeous afgan pattern is a quick work up and super easy. One of my very first projects. I actually made it into a shell for photos when I had my daughter.
This is what I made out of the swirl afgan pattern

Teresa is amazing and I absolutely adore her tutorials as do thousands of others. If you would like to join her on Facebook you can find her Facebook page HERE. You will see tons and tons of photos from other talented people.

Next up, Mikey from crochet Crowd.
I found Mikey not terribly long ago. I was searching Youtube for a tutorial on the star afgan. That is where I found Mikey and his wonderful tutorials. He is super creative and doesn't just cover yarn. He also does DIY decorating tutorials and has recently been picked up by RedHeart to do tutorials for them. You can find Mikey on youtube HERE  or his Facebook page HERE

this is Mikey's cowboy bootie tutorial. I am in love with these adorable little booties and they are on my to-do list. Which by the way, is endless.

Mikey tackles extreme crochet as well. I have not yet tackled the gigantic hook like the one he uses in the video below:

Now the best part about Mikey's tutorials is if you have seen the crazy intimidating yarns like sashay or eyelash yarns, Mikey does tutorials on all of them. He is not afraid to use any and every yarn on the market. So if you have been thinking about these crazy looking yarns just check out his videos and it will ease your troubled mind!

This absolutely GORGEOUS afgan is simply explained by Mikey as he always takes you step by step. I love the colors!

One last Kudos for this post, Claire from BobWilson123. I have to admit that I have TONS of her videos in my playlists on youtube. She has so many awesome tutorials. I have actually managed to make several of her smaller projects. I will actually show you one I finished not long ago, it is the Granny Square Bag. She has a 3 video series on this bag showing step by step how to make the bag from the layout of squares to how to sew them together to how to make and sew on the handles.
Here is video one. You can find the other two on her Youtube Channel HERE

This is my go to flower for hairbows and headbands and even beanies! I adore it and it is simple and gorgeous once complete!

You can find Claire's Facebook here: BobWilson123

I do hope you will take some time to check out these amazing crafters. They truly put time into sharing their talent with the world and they are dedicated to spreading the love of crochet to those who may be afraid to try it or cannot read a pattern. Believe me, I learned to crochet from these three amazing and wonderful crocheters so Thank you to each of you for sharing your time and talent. The world is better for it!

Til next time, Stay Crafty!

Cruddy Weather Makes for Great Crafting!

Well when the weather sucks like it has here for the whole week you have to find something to do in the house. I have been under the weather as well so cleaning beyond the necessary hasn't been on the list lol. Late night coughing thanks to this sinus infection has left me to my old night owl schedule. I have had plenty of hours this week at night to crochet and have been working hard. I have also been browsing the net for wonderful fellow crafters to share with you guys. Sooooo, first up:

CozyCaps, run by a stay at home mom like myself, this lovely lady does great work! She is currently trying to reach 500 likes on her page, once she does she will be doing a giveaway! So go check her out! Share her page so you can try to win some free handmade gear!

Simply Southern Signs!
This dude can PAINT! He is super talented and so reasonably priced! His artwork is absolutely amazing, I hate to say it but he is WAY better than me with a can of acrylic and a brush lol. I am in awe of this absolutely adorable chicken painting and it is in his etsy shop for just $20.00 but it isn't your average painting, it is a wooden sign! Love it! In fact, all of his wonderful artwork is painted on distressed wood. It is not your average decor and I love that! I am all for hanging a wooden sign in my kitchen! LOVE IT! Guess I can't say that enough. So check out his Etsy shop, it is located on his Facebook Page and there is also a direct link located below!

Last but DEFINATELY NOT least!

Miss Molly Cottage!

Her creativity amazes me. I absolutely adore her dress forms! They are amazing! She also has a shop attached to her Facebook page you HAVE to check out. She has a lot of adorable little necklaces there that I am guessing are handstitched. One thing no one can deny is how dedicated she is to perfection. Please check out her page, you may very well find something you like!
